Project Hair care: Remedies for hair fall




Hair fall is the common problem among men and women. There are many reasons which causes hair fall. The main reason is our lifestyle, a poor lifestyle gives poor results on our body. You can check various topics related to hair fall in my previous posts.

Usually, we all faced hair fall due to our stressed life, poor diet, hard water, and hormonal changes. It doesn't mean that we can not get the remedy for hair fall. Your hair needs your attention and proper nutrition. Let's talk about the remedies for hair fall.

Remedies for Hair Fall

1: Remove stress : Stressful life leads to many problems so make a mind set that every problem is a solution. Only need a quiet place and think over it. You will sure get the solution. Stress never gives you anything, it only takes away your health and make you sick. Remove this element from your life. Automatically your hair get their heath back.

2: Sound Sleep:  Sound sleep is very necessary for keeping your body healthy. It also energize your hair from roots. Don't forget to open your hair while sleeping. Sound sleep prevents hair fall.

3: Yoga:  As exercising or yoga is very good for your body. You stay fit and toned. Yoga is like a natural medicine for your body, so add it on priority basis in your lifestyle and do it everyday. There are few Yoga asanas which are particularly for hair fall. The most important yoga is Pranayama. Names of other yoga aasanas which are good for hair fall: Downward Dog pose, Standing Forward pose, Wind Relieving Pose, Shoulder Stand pose, Bridge Pose, Diamond Pose.

4: Scalp Massage:  Scalp massage improves the blood circulation and it is good for roots, scalp and reduces those conditions which interrupt hair growth. It also reduces hair dandruff and dry scalp. Scalp massage improves the sleep and reduce stress. Do it atleast once a week with your hair oil. And make a habit of massaging scalp with your finger tips daily for atleast 5 mins. You can do this without oil. 

5: Soft Water:  Hard water is one of the main causes for hair fall. Wash your hair with soft water. Either you can install water softener or use any home remedy. The home remedy for softening the water is the use of Alum (fitkari). You can put the alum for 10 to 15 seconds in your bucket and after using it, sieve your water. Now your soft water is ready for head wash. You can rinse your hair with lemon water also. 

Method of lemon water : 1 big bowl of water and squeeze half lemon into it. Now rinse your water and then apply conditioner. Through this method you can remove hard water minerals, salt, calcium  etc from your hair.

6: Water intake: Water intake is very necessary for the proper functioning of body. It is required to have atleast 7 to 8 glasses of water. Adequate water intake helps your hair in their growth, reduces dandruff and dryness.

7: Remedies from Kitchen: There are many things in our kitchen which are quite beneficial for our hair like fenugreek seeds, coconut oil, curd, lemon, curry leaves. 
a. Curry Patta and Onion : has antioxidant, protein and beta - carotene which helps in hair growth and reduces hair fall. Make oil of curry leaves. Method: Take handful of leaves and add them in half cup coconut oil. Now put this mixture on gas for 10 to 15 mins on low flames. Through sieving method extract oil. Here is your curry leaves oil is ready for scalp massage. 
You can add onion also with curry leaves that makes more fruitful oil. Onion is rich in sulfur. Sulfur is also known as beauty mineral because it enhance the production of collagen in the body which improves skin and hair quality.

b. Fenugreek Seeds and Curd: It has folic acid, protein, Vitamin A, C and K. Soak the seeds for overnight. Make a paste in the morning and  add half cup of curd with 2 spoons of olive oil. Now your hair mask is ready which helps in hair growth, reduce hair fall and also removes dandruff.

c. Fresh Aloe Vera: Apply fresh aloe vera in your hair only for 15 to 20 mins. It also helps in nourishing and protecting your hair from any damage. It also removes bacterial and fungal infection. 

8. Green Vegetables and Fruits: Add less processed food with less spices. So you need to add more roughage in your diet in the form of salads and fruits. Less use of sugar will also give you good result in your hair fall condition and less sugar also improves the quality of skin.

  8. Very informative post. Majority of population facing the problem of hairfall. Yoga really aids up to high extent in controlling hair fall. I started following some of the tips to remove my problem of hair fall among all yoga and onion juice these are really working as wonders. Curry leaves tip is new to me I will surely try this one too.

  9. Hard water is the main culprit for my hair fall. Havent tried any of the home remedies except for regular oiling of my hair. Hopefully something works and makes the hairfall stop.

  18. I used Methi seeds and curds, the lemon water bit is news to me. Will definitely try it. For me regular oiling works wonders. Will surely try the other tips. Aloe vera too I have tried, will do it more often.

  20. What an insightful post especially with the natural remedies for hairfall. I remember my nani making all these remedies for our hair care when we were kids. As we grew up, we moved to shampoos, conditioners, serums and treatments harming our hair and skin. Thanks for this wonderful series reminding us of all the natural ways to take care of hair!
